We took a long weekend trip to Kentucky this past weekend. Since we were married on the day of the Kentucky Derby, we had always wanted to actually visit Churchill Downs. We had already planned on being down in Kentucky so we made the trip from Lexington to Louisville for the Kentucky Oaks. With Hope along we made the trip and got infield tickets. We hadn't actually planned on being able to get in but we figured we would check it out. Well by the time we got parked, rode the shuttle, went through the security check points (which is extra fun with a little one), we made our way to the infield to partake in the Kentucky Oaks races. We are still planning to attend the actual Derby on the day of our anniversary but when we do it will be in the Grandstands. But if you ever get the chance to go, do it. It is a memorable trip.
